The Future of Flex: A Seminar on Labor Law and Tax Changes in Secondment and Freelance (ZZP) Arrangements

The landscape of flexible workforces is undergoing significant change.

Recently, the Amsterdam District Court determined that workers engaged through Temper do not qualify as temporary agency workers. Furthermore, the Advocate General of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands recently advised that cleaners engaged via Helpling should not be classified as temporary agency workers or freelancers (ZZP’ers), but rather as employees of Helpling who are seconded to households.

In addition, the “Clarification of Employment Relationships and Legal Presumption Act” (Wet verduidelijking beoordeling arbeidsrelaties en rechtsvermoeden, VBAR), aimed at addressing false self-employment, has been submitted to the Council of State for review (source: NOS.nl).

In response to these developments, CLINT | Littler, in collaboration with Atlas Fiscalisten N.V., is hosting a seminar titled “The Future of Flex” on September 12, 2024, at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. This event will provide insights and practical guidance on the recent labor law and tax changes affecting secondment and freelance (ZZP) arrangements. The seminar will be followed by a networking reception.
